Overview

 

The purpose of the HSA is to provide mutual assistance among the parents of EBC who have chosen to provide Christian education of their children at home (Deut. 6:6-7; Luke 2:52; Eph. 6:4). The homeschool association has an annual fine arts night for the children, as well as a yearly graduation. They also collaborate with Engleside Christian School for some standardized academic testing. The HSA also has monthly meetings at members' homes where parents get together to share tips and ideas with each other.

 

HSA Policies

The HSA is for families who attend EBC and will not be used to facilitate home education in the general community or to facilitate home education for families who attend other churches. The HSA is Christian education and will not be used to facilitate secular education in the home. The HSA will not be used to promote any particular school or curricula (to include philosophy and methodology), although parents are free to share their recommendations and experiences regarding Christian schools and curricula with each other. The HSA will not provide legal advice regarding home schooling; but will refer legal questions to the Home School Legal Defense Association or another Christian organization that is equipped to provide legal advice.
