Pastor Brad Lapiska

Pastor Brad Lapiska serves as the Senior Pastor of Engleside Baptist Church. He was saved as a teenager, but committed his life to living for Christ shortly after he joined the Marine Corps, while at flight school. Pastor Lapiska served on active duty and reserve duty as a Cobra pilot, retiring in 2006 after 29 years of service as a Colonel. After answering God's call to preach in 1988, he served for nine years as Youth Pastor of Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina and as Youth Pastor of Tri-City Baptist Church in Blue Springs, Missouri. He has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University, a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Bob Jones University, and a Master of Divinity from Heart of America Theological Seminary. Pastor Lapiska came to Engleside Baptist Church on August 1, 1997. His heartbeat is to preach and teach the Word of God for the purpose of producing a change in the believer's life and to train believers in finding their place of service in the church's ministry to others. His hobbies include exercising, golfing, and reading. He and his wife Peg were married in 1977 and have two married daughters, Julie and Christina.

 

 

 

Charlie Barnes - Associate Pastor

Pastor Barnes serves as the Associate Pastor of Engleside Baptist Church. He was saved at the age of thirteen after the tragic loss of both parents in a house fire. Despite this apparent tragedy, Pastor Barnes remains thankful to God for both his saving grace and the opportunity to share His love with others. While helping in the junior church program at White Oak Baptist Church, God laid a burden on him for young people. Answering the call to preach at the age of fifteen, Pastor Barnes dedicated himself to a lifetime ministry with young people. After graduation from high school, he attended Pensacola Christian College. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Exposition. He came to Engleside on August 1, 1997. He served ten years in the youth ministry and in June of 2004 became the associate pastor of Engleside Baptist Church. His hobbies are golf, reading, and fishing. He and his wife Alanna were married on June 5, 1993, and have a son Zachary.

 

 

 

 

Keith Paddock – Minister of Music & ECS Administrator

Keith Paddock serves as the music pastor of Engleside Baptist Church and school administrator for Engleside Christian School. He grew up in a pastor’s home and was saved as a child under his father’s counsel. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Bob Jones University, married his wife Paula, and took a position as a Christian school band director in 1985. He served in Normal, IL, for seven years assisting with church music and school administration. He joined the ministry at Engleside in the fall of 1992, teaching in the school and assuming church music responsibilities at that time. After assisting with the school administration for a year, he accepted his current administrative position in 1998. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Bob Jones University as time permits in the summers.

 

 

Ben Smith - Youth Pastor

Ben Smith serves as youth pastor of Engleside Baptist Church. He grew up in Michigan where he was raised in a pastor’s home. He accepted the Lord at an early age, but later struggled with the validity of his decision. After years of questioning, he settled the issue at Camp Co-Be-Ac during the summer before his senior year of high school. Following high school Ben went off to the north woods of Wisconsin to be discipled in the way of servant-leadership at Northland Baptist Bible College. He majored in Bible and found these years to be extremely valuable in molding his heart for ministry. After graduating in 2001, he felt the Lord directing him to seminary and that fall traveled down to Virginia Beach, Virginia to attend seminary at Central Baptist Theological Seminary. It was here that Ben learned the weight of the Word of God and the seriousness of study and exegesis. Ben and his wife Carissa met at Northland and were later married on June 21, 2002 in Colorado. They both know that the Lord has called them to reach the next generation for Christ.

 

 

 

Ted Perdue - Seniors' Pastor

Pastor Ted serves as the Seniors' Pastor, ministering primarily to an ever-growing number of people over the age of fifty five. He was saved at Engleside Baptist Church in November 1965, at the age of thirty, under the ministry of Pastor Wayne Thompson. As he matured in the Lord, God allowed him to serve in several areas of ministry over the years. Between 1976 and 1986, he served as Usher, Financial Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, School Board Member, and Chairman of the Deacon Board. In I982 he felt the call of God to serve full time in the local church. In 1986 the Lord opened that door of opportunity when Pastor Thompson asked him if he would pray about taking early retirement from his job with the Department of the Interior and come on staff as the Assistant Pastor. On August 1, 1986, he joined the staff of Engleside as Assistant Pastor and was subsequently licensed to preach the Gospel. He served as Assistant Pastor until August of 1995, when he resigned and assisted in planting Cornerstone Baptist Church. He returned to Engleside three years later and assumed his present position in 2000. His purpose is to minister to the needs of the Senior Saints and help them grow in Christ through the teaching of God's Word. He and his wife Dottie have been married for forty-eight years and have four married sons and fifteen grandchildren.
